Research Objectives
Smart City Systems Modeling
All smart city components are interconnected, taking a systems approach, our team looks at the links between the transportation system and other smart city components (e.g., energy systems). For example, our current research uses a high-resolution rainfall dataset to help us better understand how increased frequency of heavy rainfall events could impact traffic flow. The primary goal of our research is to improve quality-of-life for people by looking at emerging trends in transportation.
Sustainable Transportation
The research team at Future Mobility Systems Lab conducts interdisciplinary research with the objective of pursuing research that will help us to advance towards a transportation system that is safe, multimodal, smart, and resilient. The figure on the right displays the four core areas of research of this group.
